From the outset, the company focuses on shipbuilding, and has broadened its activity to constructing propulsion systems, services for the industry, design and management of projects and manufacture of components for the aeronautical industry..
Ganaín operates from its own plants in the south of Galicia (Spain) and in the north of Portugal. Its closeness to the Port of Vigo allows the company to work for others across Europe.
Forty years after it was founded, 80% of company sales are for the international market.
Important dates in the history of Ganaín
1978
Ganaín was created, initially as a Cooperative.
1987
Ganaín, S.A. was founded and began to diversify beyond the shipbuilding industry, by firmly positioning itself in the automotive sector.
1998
The Ganaín Group was established, integrating the two existing companies to date: TYM Ganaín y Calderería Naval del Miñor.
2001
A company was set up to specialize in the considerable growth in Industrial Services: Gallega de Mecánica, SL (GAME).
2003
Ganaín grows considerably, based on its international activity. Its main customers become multinational companies headquartered in Norway and Germany.
2009
Ganaín opened its first plant overseas. Ganaín Lusitania was founded and its workshops in Valença do Minho (Portugal) were opened.
2014
When the vast majority of the local companies in the areas went through an extreme crisis, GANAÍN INDUSTRIES experienced a rapid growth and international expansion, having risen to a staff of over 600 people, orientating its business to the European market.
